The Altai Accentor is a small, streaked mountain songbird that keeps low in scrub, rocks, hedges, or alpine meadows of rocky alpine slopes of the Altai, Tien Shan, and western Himalaya. It feeds mostly on seeds and small insects, often shuffling quietly on the ground before giving a thin, musical call from cover.
