About this website

This is a free, informational website. It has no user accounts or logins, does not use advertising or cross-site tracking, and does not ask you for personal information. The policy below describes the MyBird app.

Overview

MyBird helps you build a private bird catalogue and life list. We do not sell your information, show third-party advertising, or track you across other companies’ apps and websites.

Information you choose to add

You may add a name, profile image, birding goal, favourites, wishlist entries, notes, photos, videos, audio recordings, dates, locations, and camera metadata. Photos and videos can include metadata already embedded by your camera or photo library.

Sign in with Apple

Sign in with Apple is optional. If you use it, the app stores the Apple user identifier provided to it and may store the name and relay email address you choose to share. This information is used only to identify and restore your profile.

Storage and iCloud

App preferences are stored on your device. When iCloud is available, your profile settings, preferences, bird records, photos, videos, audio, and related metadata may sync through Apple’s private iCloud and CloudKit services. This data is held in your private iCloud account and is governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy.

Permissions

Microphone access is requested only when you choose to record bird audio. Photo access is handled through Apple’s system photo picker. Permission to add to Photos is requested only when you choose to save an image. You can change these permissions in iOS Settings at any time.

Retention and deletion

Your information remains until you delete it. You can delete individual library items inside the app. Settings › Profile & Account › Delete Account permanently erases everything: your profile and preferences, and your entire bird library — every bird record, photo, video, and audio recording — including the copy synced to your iCloud account. This is immediate and cannot be undone.

Children

MyBird is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. A parent or guardian should supervise a child’s use of the app and its sharing features.
