By using MyBird, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app or website.

Personal use

MyBird is provided for personal birding, cataloguing, photography, and educational use. You are responsible for the content you add and for having permission to store or share it.

Wildlife and safety

Use the app responsibly. Follow local laws, respect private property and protected habitats, keep a safe distance from wildlife, and never disturb birds or nesting sites to obtain a photograph or observation.

Catalogue information

Species names, conservation status, maps, taxonomy, and other catalogue information may change or contain errors. The app and website are a personal reference tool and should not be treated as scientific, legal, safety, or conservation advice.

Data sources

Some catalogue information — including species ranges, occurrence data, and conservation status — is derived from public scientific databases and references, including the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) and the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. We gratefully acknowledge these sources and their contributors. This information is provided for general reference and may be simplified, modified, or out of date.

Intellectual property

MyBird and its contents — including its bird images, illustrations, written descriptions, design, logos, and software — are owned by the developer and protected by copyright and other laws. They are provided for your personal use only. You may not copy, extract, scrape, redistribute, sell, or create derivative works from the contents without prior written permission.

Your content

You retain ownership of the photos, videos, audio, notes, and other content you add in the app. You grant MyBird only the limited permission needed to store, display, sync, and process that content so the app can work for you. You are responsible for ensuring you hold the rights to anything you add, and for keeping your own backups.

Prohibited use

You may not misuse the app or website, attempt to bypass security, infringe intellectual-property rights, or use them to facilitate unlawful or harmful activity.

Availability and changes

Features may be updated, changed, or discontinued. We may revise these terms when the app, website, or applicable requirements change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

Disclaimer

The app and website are provided “as is” and “as available” to the extent permitted by law, without guarantees that they will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every purpose.
