Banded Cotinga

Cotinga maculata

Critically Endangered

The Banded Cotinga is a Neotropical cotinga of Atlantic Forest of eastern and southeastern Brazil. It feeds largely on fruit, moves seeds through forest canopies, and many species use loud calls, bright plumage, or display perches during breeding. It faces an extremely high extinction risk, so remaining habitat patches and display or nesting sites are crucial.
