Barred Antthrush

Chamaeza mollissima

Least Concern

The Barred Antthrush is an antthrush of humid forests in Bolivia, Peru, and Colombia. A terrestrial bird, it walks deliberately across the forest floor with its short tail held cocked, probing the leaf litter for insects and often attending army-ant swarms. Fun fact: Antthrushes walk rather than hop, moving over the forest floor with a measured, rail-like gait.
