Black-banded Barbet

Psilopogon javensis

Near Threatened

The Black-banded Barbet is a stout-billed canopy bird of Borneo and western Indonesian forests. It feeds heavily on figs and other fruit, also taking insects, and its ringing calls often reveal it before it is seen among leaves. Pairs nest in tree cavities that they excavate or reuse.
