Black-breasted Gnateater

Conopophaga snethlageae

Least Concern

The Black-breasted Gnateater is a little-known bird of Amazonian forests south of the Amazon River in Brazil. Quiet and easily overlooked, it forages in the shaded understorey for insects. Fun fact: It was long confused with similar gnateaters and is still one of the more poorly known members of its family.
