The Black-cheeked Gnateater is a small, rounded bird of the Atlantic forest of eastern Brazil. The male has a black face and breast and a chestnut-tinged crown, and it forages quietly near the forest floor. Fun fact: It is one of the more frequently seen gnateaters, sometimes hopping into view along shaded forest trails.
