Black-throated Mango

Anthracothorax nigricollis

Least Concern

The Black-throated Mango is a nectar-feeding hummingbird of the Caribbean islands and nearby coastal regions. It also takes tiny insects and spiders for protein, using fast hovering flight, rapid wingbeats, and a long bill to work flowers and defend feeding areas. It is currently not considered globally threatened, though healthy native vegetation and flowering plants remain important.
