Black-winged Stilt

Himantopus himantopus

Least Concern

The Black-winged Stilt is a shorebird of Europe, western and central Asia, and their African or Asian wintering grounds. It uses its bill, legs, and alert flight to feed on invertebrates, seeds, or small aquatic prey along coasts, mudflats, rivers, lakes, grasslands, or open ground; many shorebirds make impressive seasonal movements between breeding and non-breeding areas.
