The Blue Crane is a tall, elegant crane of southern African grasslands and Karoo wetlands. It feeds by walking through marshes, wet meadows, fields, or open plains for roots, seeds, insects, and small animals. Pairs give loud carrying calls, and many cranes perform graceful bowing and leaping displays.
