Bornean Bristlehead

Pityriasis gymnocephala

Vulnerable

The Bornean Bristlehead is a unusual Bornean canopy bird with a bare colorful head, moving in noisy groups through lowland rainforest in Borneo. It is generally resident, using local forest, scrub, or woodland year-round and shifting within its range as food changes. Fun fact: this batch includes some of the most distinctive island lineages in the bird catalog, from toxic ifritas to display-rich birds-of-paradise.
