Cape Rockjumper

Chaetops frenatus

Near Threatened

The Cape Rockjumper is a ground-running mountain songbird of rocky slopes and alpine scrub in southern Africa. It is generally resident, using local habitat year-round while shifting within its range as food and cover change. Fun fact: this batch connects several unusual songbird lineages, from cliff-nesting rockfowl to wetland donacobius and oxpeckers that forage on large mammals.
