Chinese Barbet

Psilopogon faber

Least Concern

The Chinese Barbet is a stout-billed canopy bird of southern China and Hainan forests. It feeds heavily on figs and other fruit, also taking insects, and its ringing calls often reveal it before it is seen among leaves. Pairs nest in tree cavities that they excavate or reuse.
