Collared Crescentchest

Melanopareia torquata

Least Concern

The Collared Crescentchest is a boldly marked songbird of the cerrado grasslands and savanna of central South America. It has a black crescent across a buff chest, a rufous crown, and a striking face pattern, and it skulks low in dense grass and scrub. Fun fact: It is far more often heard than seen, giving a long bouncing series of notes from cover.
