The Common Crane is a tall, elegant crane of northern Eurasia and wintering regions from Africa to South Asia. It feeds by walking through marshes, wet meadows, fields, or open plains for roots, seeds, insects, and small animals. Pairs give loud carrying calls, and many cranes perform graceful bowing and leaping displays.
