Crested Jayshrike

Platylophus galericulatus

Near Threatened

The Crested Jayshrike is a crested Southeast Asian forest bird that moves through canopy and mid-storey for insects and small fruit in Sundaland forests. It is generally resident, using local forest, scrub, or woodland year-round and shifting within its range as food changes. Fun fact: this batch includes some of the most distinctive island lineages in the bird catalog, from toxic ifritas to display-rich birds-of-paradise.
