Crimson-fronted Barbet

Psilopogon rubricapillus

Least Concern

The Crimson-fronted Barbet is a stout-billed canopy bird of the Western Ghats and Sri Lankan wet-zone forests. It feeds heavily on figs and other fruit, also taking insects, and its ringing calls often reveal it before it is seen among leaves. Pairs nest in tree cavities that they excavate or reuse.
