Eastern Bristlebird

Dasyornis brachypterus

Vulnerable

The Eastern Bristlebird is a secretive ground-dwelling songbird of dense coastal heath and scrub in southeastern Australia and Tasmania. It is usually resident, using dense cover or forest structure year-round and moving locally as food availability changes. Fun fact: many of these Australo-Papuan passerines are easier to detect by voice than by sight.
