Erect-crested Penguin

Eudyptes sclateri

Endangered

The Erect-crested Penguin is a flightless seabird of Bounty and Antipodes Islands south of New Zealand. It swims with powerful flipper-like wings, feeds mainly on fish, krill, or squid, and comes ashore or onto ice to breed in colonies. It faces serious conservation pressure, usually from habitat loss, low survival, or a small and declining population.
