Fire-tufted Barbet
Psilopogon pyrolophus
Least ConcernThe Fire-tufted Barbet is a stout-billed canopy bird of montane forests of Sumatra and the Malay Peninsula. It feeds heavily on figs and other fruit, also taking insects, and its ringing calls often reveal it before it is seen among leaves. Pairs nest in tree cavities that they excavate or reuse.
