Forbes's Plover

Thinornis forbesi

Least Concern

The Forbes's Plover is a shorebird of West and central African riverbanks and sandy open country. It uses its bill, legs, and alert flight to feed on invertebrates, seeds, or small aquatic prey along coasts, mudflats, rivers, lakes, grasslands, or open ground; many shorebirds make impressive seasonal movements between breeding and non-breeding areas.
