Golden-tailed Parrotlet

Touit surdus

Vulnerable

The Golden-tailed Parrotlet is a small green parrot that moves through forest edges, scrub, and riverine growth for seeds, fruit, and tender plant material in Atlantic Forest of eastern Brazil. It usually nests in tree cavities or cliff holes and may make local movements as food trees fruit or flower. Fun fact: many parrots use strong hooked bills and zygodactyl feet together like a climbing-and-feeding toolkit.
