Golden-throated Barbet

Psilopogon franklinii

Least Concern

The Golden-throated Barbet is a stout-billed canopy bird of Himalayan foothills, northeast India, and southern China. It feeds heavily on figs and other fruit, also taking insects, and its ringing calls often reveal it before it is seen among leaves. Pairs nest in tree cavities that they excavate or reuse.
