The Himalayan Quail is a ground-dwelling gamebird of the western Himalayan foothills, if still extant. It walks, scratches, and dust-bathes through cover for seeds, shoots, berries, insects, and other small food. Many rely on camouflage, short explosive flight, and seasonal displays by males.
