The Hooded Crane is a tall, elegant crane of eastern Siberia and East Asian wintering wetlands. It feeds by walking through marshes, wet meadows, fields, or open plains for roots, seeds, insects, and small animals. Pairs give loud carrying calls, and many cranes perform graceful bowing and leaping displays.
