The Magenta Petrel is a tubenose seabird of the Chatham Islands and nearby southwest Pacific. It ranges widely over the sea, using dynamic soaring or low gliding flight to find fish, squid, crustaceans, and carrion, and usually nests in burrows, crevices, or remote island colonies.
