Malaysian Rail-babbler

Eupetes macrocerus

Near Threatened

The Malaysian Rail-babbler is a secretive forest-floor bird of Southeast Asian rainforest with a long neck and rail-like posture in sub-Saharan Africa. It is generally resident, using local habitat year-round while shifting within its range as food and cover change. Fun fact: this batch connects several unusual songbird lineages, from cliff-nesting rockfowl to wetland donacobius and oxpeckers that forage on large mammals.
