Mayan Antthrush
Formicarius moniliger
Least ConcernThe Mayan Antthrush is an antthrush of humid forests in Belize, Mexico, and Guatemala. A terrestrial bird, it walks deliberately across the forest floor with its short tail held cocked, probing the leaf litter for insects and often attending army-ant swarms. Fun fact: They are named for their habit of following army-ant swarms to snap up fleeing insects.
