Olive-crowned Crescentchest

Melanopareia maximiliani

Least Concern

The Olive-crowned Crescentchest is a secretive bird of dry chaco scrub and thorn forest in Bolivia, Paraguay, Argentina, and southwestern Brazil. Patterned with a black breast crescent and rufous tones, it creeps through tangled low vegetation. Fun fact: Crescentchests are so retiring that they were long lumped with the tapaculos before being given their own family.
