Painted Quail-thrush

Cinclosoma ajax

Least Concern

The Painted Quail-thrush is a terrestrial forest or shrubland bird that walks quietly on the ground for insects and seeds in New Guinea. It is usually resident, using dense cover or forest structure year-round and moving locally as food availability changes. Fun fact: many of these Australo-Papuan passerines are easier to detect by voice than by sight.
