The Papuan Parrotfinch is a small seed-eating finch of New Guinea and nearby islands. It moves through grasses, reeds, scrub, farmland, or open woodland in pairs and flocks, taking grass seeds and small insects. Many estrildids build domed grass nests and give soft contact calls.
