The Pin-tailed Sandgrouse is a ground-dwelling sandgrouse of Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and central Asian drylands. It forages in small groups for seeds across open dry country and is adapted to long flights between feeding areas and waterholes; adults may carry water in specialized belly feathers to chicks at the nest.
