The Pitt Island Shag is a fish-eating waterbird of the Chatham Islands. It dives from the surface to chase fish and aquatic prey, then often rests upright on rocks, posts, banks, or trees with wings held out to dry. Colonies usually form near productive coasts, lakes, rivers, or wetlands.
