Red-eared Parrotfinch

Erythrura coloria

Least Concern

The Red-eared Parrotfinch is a small seed-eating finch of Old World grasslands, wetlands, savannas, and island scrub. It moves through grasses, reeds, scrub, farmland, or open woodland in pairs and flocks, taking grass seeds and small insects. Many estrildids build domed grass nests and give soft contact calls.
