Rufous-fronted Antthrush

Formicarius rufifrons

Least Concern

The Rufous-fronted Antthrush is an antthrush of humid forests in Peru and Bolivia. A terrestrial bird, it walks deliberately across the forest floor with its short tail held cocked, probing the leaf litter for insects and often attending army-ant swarms. Fun fact: Like many forest-floor birds, antthrushes are heard far more often than seen, giving far-carrying whistled songs.
