The Rufous Gnateater is a warm reddish-brown bird of the Atlantic forest of southeastern Brazil and adjacent Paraguay and Argentina. It is one of the most familiar gnateaters, often seen perching upright on thin stems near the ground. Fun fact: Its gentle, rising call is a characteristic sound of southeastern Brazil's forests.
