Rufous-tailed Antthrush

Chamaeza ruficauda

Least Concern

The Rufous-tailed Antthrush is an antthrush of humid forests in Brazil and Argentina. A terrestrial bird, it walks deliberately across the forest floor with its short tail held cocked, probing the leaf litter for insects and often attending army-ant swarms. Fun fact: Antthrushes walk rather than hop, moving over the forest floor with a measured, rail-like gait.
