The Saffron Toucanet is a large-billed forest bird of Atlantic Forest of eastern and southeastern Brazil. It feeds mostly on fruit but also takes insects, eggs, and small vertebrates, and it nests in tree cavities. It is not yet globally threatened, but declines, restricted range, or habitat pressure mean it needs watching.
