Scribble-tailed Canastero

Asthenes maculicauda

Least Concern

The Scribble-tailed Canastero is a canastero of open scrub and grassland in Bolivia, Argentina, and Peru. It keeps low in grass and scrub, creeping through cover for insects with its tail often cocked. Fun fact: The family is named for the horneros, which build sturdy oven-shaped nests out of mud.
