Spotted Barbtail

Premnoplex brunnescens

Least Concern

The Spotted Barbtail is a barbtail of humid montane forests in Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Colombia. It creeps over mossy trunks and branches, propped on its tail, gleaning small insects. Fun fact: The family is named for the horneros, which build sturdy oven-shaped nests out of mud.
