The Spotted Sandgrouse is a ground-dwelling sandgrouse of North African and southwestern Asian deserts and semi-deserts. It forages in small groups for seeds across open dry country and is adapted to long flights between feeding areas and waterholes; adults may carry water in specialized belly feathers to chicks at the nest.
