Three-toed Jacamar

Jacamaralcyon tridactyla

Near Threatened

The Three-toed Jacamar is a slim, long-billed jacamar of Atlantic Forest of southeastern Brazil. It usually watches from exposed forest-edge or riverbank perches, then darts out to catch flying insects such as butterflies, moths, bees, and dragonflies, often returning to the same perch. Its restricted and fragmented habitat makes it a species to watch closely.
