White-throated Barbtail

Premnoplex tatei

Endangered

The White-throated Barbtail is a barbtail of humid montane forests in Venezuela. It creeps over mossy trunks and branches, propped on its tail, gleaning small insects. Classified as Endangered, it is threatened mainly by the loss and fragmentation of its habitat. Fun fact: The family is named for the horneros, which build sturdy oven-shaped nests out of mud.
