Yellow-crested Cockatoo

Cacatua sulphurea

Critically Endangered

The Yellow-crested Cockatoo is a cockatoo of Indonesian islands and nearby Wallacea. It uses a strong bill to crack seeds, nuts, fruit, and wood, nests in tree hollows, and often lives in noisy, social flocks or pairs. It faces an extremely high extinction risk, so every remaining population and breeding site is important.
