Andean Guan

Penelope montagnii

Least Concern

The Andean Guan is an arboreal cracid of Andean forests from Venezuela and Colombia south to Bolivia and northwestern Argentina. It usually keeps to forest canopy and edges, feeding heavily on fruit and helping move seeds through tropical and subtropical forests. It remains comparatively widespread, but healthy forest and woodland still matter for keeping local populations secure.
