Band-tailed Guan

Penelope argyrotis

Least Concern

The Band-tailed Guan is an arboreal cracid of humid Andean forests from Venezuela and Colombia to Ecuador. It usually keeps to forest canopy and edges, feeding heavily on fruit and helping move seeds through tropical and subtropical forests. It remains comparatively widespread, but healthy forest and woodland still matter for keeping local populations secure.
