Black Guan

Chamaepetes unicolor

Least Concern

The Black Guan is an arboreal cracid of montane forests of Costa Rica and western Panama. It usually keeps to forest canopy and edges, feeding heavily on fruit and helping move seeds through tropical and subtropical forests. It remains comparatively widespread, but healthy forest and woodland still matter for keeping local populations secure.
