The Black Tinamou is a rare montane forest tinamou found in parts of the Andes. Its dark plumage, secretive behavior, and remote humid-forest habitat make it one of the more elusive tinamous. Fun fact: Like many montane species, it is vulnerable to forest loss in narrow elevation bands.
