Chestnut-winged Chachalaca

Ortalis garrula

Least Concern

The Chestnut-winged Chachalaca is a noisy, social cracid of dry forest and thickets of northern Colombia. It moves through thickets, forest edges, and trees in pairs or small groups, feeding mainly on fruit, flowers, leaves, and other plant material. It remains comparatively widespread, but healthy forest and woodland still matter for keeping local populations secure.
